I rather enjoyed Inglorious Basterds. Never thought I’d laugh at scalping.

Clive Thompson on the New Literacy  →
I’d like to know what effect micro-blog popularity is having on this observation. It would seem to me that people would be much more likely to write on ad nauseam about whatever was on their mind if they weren’t expected to pump out wit at 140 characters at a time.

Our debt/GDP ratio is going to hit 77%? I have to say, this ‘free market’ thing is showing some weak spots. http://bit.ly/13VVab

Google Voice App Rejection: AT&T Blames, Apple... →
I am completely over this argument. I think Apple needs to just go ahead and approve the app. AT&T needs to make their data network as open as the internet. I realize most people don’t know or care about what Google Voice is, but I think it is going to be a highly used service in the next 5 years.

Newsflash! Rape jokes are STILL not funny!
vela: I met up with some friends at a coffee shop for an open mic to see another friend perform. While I drank coffee and caught up with my friends, a guy (Lucas) came on stage to perform some stand up. Lucas started off by pointing me out and announcing that I was pretty and then asking for my name. I knew I would be a part of some joke, so I went along with it. The jokes started off about how...

Whoa — we were just sent AT&T response to the FCC’s investigation into the rejection of Google Voice apps from the iPhone app store, and Ma Bell isn’t pulling any punches.

– Arrow of time no longer double-ended - Ars Technica Alright, I’ll buy that. Seems elegant enough an explanation, which satisfies that prerequisite. Wouldn’t mind a more detailed justification. I smell a new Brian Greene book in the works

WatchWatch
Not sure why I watched this the whole way through. It’s a technically impressive demo, and I am sure it has practical application, it’s just not something people would normally find interesting. Flash back 15 years though and I am sure someone from Hollywood would have tried to make a movie out of this.

Screenr →
matthewb: Super-polished screencasting site that uses a Java applet to enable screen recording of any app on your desktop without requiring any software installation. The interface design, Twitter integration and ease of use are top notch, and the files play on iPhone as well as in the site’s Flash player. Great idea. (via Johno Boardley) This is fantastic! I am definitely going to get some use...

Greening With Envy →
I like this idea. I’d like to see a breakdown of my neighbors energy use and what they are paying. It’s tough to explain to your housemates that $300 a month for electricity in a townhouse is stupid. It’s also nice to know how easily we are persuaded by each other.

I somehow doubt that this is going to see the light of day within the next 48 hours. However, considering the focus Apple has been putting on App Store submissions lately…maybe we will start to see some of those changes they have been talking about.

Chromium Builds Available →
Google’s Chrome browser is going to rock. For now, I really enjoy having a Mac browser that can do full screen. That’s the real reason I like it so much. You can get the latest build by clicking the link. Much better than getting the current beta release Google is throwing out there at the moment.
