I updated my now two year old iPhone to the latest software today. So far, so good.

One of the first things I noticed is that the YouTube application is significantly improved. You can now read the posted comments and follow a specific channel after viewing the video. A nice little touch that makes it much more useful.

The copy and paste feature is going to take some getting used to but it seems rather intuitive. I like the SMS sending progress bar change as well. It just feels like everything was thought out a little bit more than in previous versions of the software.

The highlight for me is probably the Spotlight search feature. Being able to find virtually anything on the phone as quickly as it finds it is pretty amazing.

Last, but not least, backing up is finally an acceptable speed for me, which is nice.

The phone is now, unfortunately, an even more critical part of my day to day. Wonderful.

Here’s hoping that supporting this release is going to be easier. I like it when updates go smoothly.
