One aspect of working for a technology driven company that I enjoy immensely is the ever changing atmosphere inherent in technological advancement. It’s a not an uncommon thing to here people at work laugh about some application or device we had to use only 3-4 years ago as being obscenely primitive.
This blessing, however, is not without its second edge. Any time a new method of task completion is installed people run around asking all of the obvious question. How do I fill out the new form? Is this all I have to do? What happens when the new machine doesn’t work right?
Sure, not everything goes exactly as planned on every product launch or standard operating procedure change. That’s the nature of the business.
But when the fucking label says right on it “Print X Here, Print Y Here, Have Customer Sign Here” you really shouldn’t have to over think it. Technology companies expect a lot out of their employees. I have heard some horror stories. Still, I haven’t herd one where the company challenges your basic understanding of English because of a new form.
