McCain Draws Line on Attacks as Crowds Cry ‘Fight Back’ -NYTimes
Reading some of the comments from people in McCain’s audience I start having LSD like visions of daily life for some of our more mobile red state relatives. You know, the kind we don’t talk about when we are out to dinner with guests.
I assume diapers are involved. The very sight of fecal matter must trigger the fling response.
To his credit, McCain has done very little to try and stop the attacks aside from the few kind words in the article above. I say to his credit because when he tries to fix something it usually just gets at least a little worse. It’s almost as if he is learning.
That should be a campaign ad. Now, to just get in touch with them…
At one point, after a voter told him he wanted to see a “real fight” at the debate and the crowd responded with a roar, Mr. McCain replied, “We want to fight, and I will fight, but we will be respectful.”
Then he added, “I admire Senator Obama and his accomplishments, I will respect him.” The crowd interrupted Mr. McCain to boo, but he kept talking. “I want everyone to be respectful and let’s make sure we are, because that’s the way politics should be conducted in America.”
At that point, the crowd applauded.
