If the original model for creating a website was a destination with content (apple.com, wired.com, etc.) and the current model is platform with user generated content (wikipedia.org, tumblr.com, etc.), then the logical next step should be distributed, user controlled, content on a shared platform (Whatever the hell this Diaspora thing is supposed to be).
I am really happy to see that they beat their budget expecations for the summer by some 17x what they requested. They can thank Facebook being a royal screw-up for that.
