Tonight McCain and Obama go to bed as two citizens.
Tomorrow, one of them goes to bed as the next President of the United States.
What do you thing it feels like going to bed as either one of them tonight?

McCain Draws Line on Attacks as Crowds Cry ‘Fight Back’ -NYTimes
Reading some of the comments from people in McCain’s audience I start having LSD like visions of daily life for some of our more mobile red state relatives. You know, the kind we don’t talk about when we are out to dinner with guests.
I assume diapers are involved. The very sight of fecal matter must trigger the fling response.
To his credit, McCain has done very little to try and stop the attacks aside from the few kind words in the article above. I say to his credit because when he tries to fix something it usually just gets at least a little worse. It’s almost as if he is learning.
That should be a campaign ad. Now, to just get in touch with them…
At one point, after a voter told him he wanted to see a “real fight” at the debate and the crowd responded with a roar, Mr. McCain replied, “We want to fight, and I will fight, but we will be respectful.”
Then he added, “I admire Senator Obama and his accomplishments, I will respect him.” The crowd interrupted Mr. McCain to boo, but he kept talking. “I want everyone to be respectful and let’s make sure we are, because that’s the way politics should be conducted in America.”
At that point, the crowd applauded.
So far, so good. I think both of them are doing well enough. The bases they are playing to must be happy. If you watch the coverage on Twitter it looks something like this:
McCain Supporter: McCain is kicking ass. Obama is a leftist wacko.
Obama Supporter: McCain is old. I don’t like Palin
It is nice to see two people that can actually speak publicly without embarrassing themselves. It’s a welcomed change. Obama, in my liberal opinion, is doing very well. McCain appears a little grumpy.
Edit: In the end I think Obama won by virtue of McCain’s faults, not Obama’s performance. I was expecting more, but I’ll live what I got. It’s not like I am worried about my vote changing…
