Feisal Abdul Rauf Details His Harrowing Vision for Terror-Victory Mosque

A totally worthy quick peek at some of the intentions behind the building of a mosque close to the old WTC. Amusing if nothing else. I’d pay a visit if it is actually built by the time I next visit NYC (There will supposedly be areas for Christians, they make no special mention of Catholics, who we all know are just about as socially outcast as muslims these days. Am I right?).

PS: I don’t say “ground-zero.” I think it is stupid. World Trade Center. Done. Or 9/11 -New York Theater if you feel all hawkish about it.

There would be a ton of ground-zeros in the world if we referred to every downed building, due to terrorist act, as ground-zero.

I think Japan may rightfully lay claim to the term ground-zero (and ground-one for that matter).

The chairman of the Cordoba Initiative and imam of the ground-zero terror-victory mosque will sit for an interview on Larry King Live later tonight, and today, he lays out in a New York Times op-ed his inflammatory, insensitive, and just plain dangerous vision for his ground-zero terrorist-recruitment center and shrine. Rauf doesn’t take long to strike a defiant tone:

“We are proceeding with the community center, Cordoba House.”

So named for the conquering of Cordoba, Spain, by the invading Muslim hordes! Your audacity knows no bounds, Rauf.

“Our name, Cordoba, was inspired by the city in Spain where Muslims, Christians and Jews co-existed in the Middle Ages during a period of great cultural enrichment created by Muslims. Our initiative is intended to cultivate understanding among all religions and cultures.”
